Hibiscus Flowers

I found something new(to me, anyway) at Trader Joes the other day. Sweet and Tart Hibiscus Flowers. They are sweetend and dired and so good! They make a great snack and salad topper. Last night, I topped my Goat cheese and Nut Salad with the flowers instead of cranberries. These taste alot like dried cranberries except less tart and a little more chewy. So, if you are at Trader Joes, look in the dried fruit and nut isle...they cost about $2 a bag. Enjoy!

Mmmmm. Ever tried Bac-o's? I like those on my cheese, crouton and ranch salad.

Judy, you crack me up!

Ginger, that is so fun! I love using flowers on salads and in stuff...except that would imply that I do use them and I don't, 'cause I can't ever remember which ones are edible and which ones are poisonous! Good to know, someone at Trader Joes is out there to help people like me!

Hmmmm. Remind me not to eat anything with flowers on it next time I go to Amy's. :)

Amy-I thought of you while I was reading this cookbook today--you can eat a bunch flowers. I only remember reading pansies and honeysuckle(we all know that) but there's others.
Judy-ranch gives you cancer, flowers dont :)

Hmmm, never heard of that. I thought Ranch makes you run fast & gives you big muscles... I thought that's why my boy's put it on everything they eat. I was even going to tell Danny to start putting it on his non-breakfast breakfast food. Guess I'll have to tell them that its just not true. Ranch doesn't make you stronger or smarter.

Oh kidding, kidding, kidding. Girl, you know I'm into healthy... ;)
